We are pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Storer as the training band's Leader.
Philip is also an accomplished musician and plays Principal Cornet for Lydbrook Band. He is a peripatetic music teacher and works under the umbrella of Gloucestershire Music within the local schools. Philip is a very enthusiastic individual and will be responsible for developing players from their very first note right through to the point at which they can join the main band.
Philip studied at university under Major Peter Parkes, was taught by Roger Webster and has played with Grimethorpe colliery, Brighouse & Rastrick, James Shepherd Versatlie Brass and the Halle orchestra. After his music degree he worked as a professional trumpet player in America, Caribbean, West Indies and throughout Europe.
